Our Noise Reduction Process

Soundproofing is the process of preventing sound from entering a room. A lot of the sound is absorbed by solid objects and is transformed into heat, so soundproofing means keeping your home quieter. You can insulate your walls, doors, windows, ceiling, and even appliances and furniture to reduce noise but there are many methods to achieve soundproofing. Soundproofing is achieved by placing some sort of baffle or sound barrier between the floor or your ceiling and the wall to prevent the noise from entering the room.

Soundproofing old or new walls involves adding something that absorbs and/or dissipates noise waves. There are several ways to accomplish this. One method is by using solid absorbers that are installed between the floors and ceiling to eliminate sound. Another method is noise cancellation by using sound diffusers. Distortion of sound travels in waves; if you place a soundproof barrier on each side of a wall, the sound waves will travel in a straight line from one wall to the other.

There are several ways to find out if soundproofing is required. To start with, you should know how soundproofing works. When sound travels through one medium, it is said to have an acoustic frequency. An example of this is a car traveling down the highway at 65 miles per hour.

One method of soundproofing is by using sound absorption, which simply means filling a room with something that blocks sound. The most popular types of sound absorption are solid block soundproof tiles, foam panels, wood panels and hardwood veneers. Tiles and hardwoods work well in small rooms that do not need much soundproofing because they absorb sound before they reflect it. Foam panels work better in larger rooms and are good for soundproofing bedrooms.

Another way of soundproofing is by using sound wave materials that travel through the walls. If you want to use these sound wave materials, they must be dense enough to block sound waves while still allowing the air to pass through. The most common wall soundproofing material are soundproofed wall tiles. Wall tiles are often used in larger rooms because they are so large and effective. They can go right into your walls or they can be placed on a frame that leads to your wall so that you do not need to remove them.

Acoustic panels, drywall, sound absorption mikes, and sound diffusers are all other ways of soundproofing. You can also use insulation and caulk to stop noise. Insulation works by creating an insulating barrier between your walls and the room below. You can use fiberglass or rolls of polyurethane to create an insulating barrier. Drywall creates a tough barrier without creating gaps between your drywall and your ceiling or your windows. Use drywall in between your windows and doors to help stop noise penetration.

Fiberglass and acrylic panels are both good options to help soundproof your home. Acoustic panels block the air flow from outside, but they do not block the sound waves created by your ceiling or doors. Panels are best positioned in the middle of your room. This is because when you sit on a sofa in the middle of your room, the waves produced by the television are picked up by the panes in the panel and sent to your ears.

Acoustic panels are available in two different types: wet and dry. Wet panels are more expensive and they do not insulate your walls like the dry types do. However, they are more effective at blocking noise. Dry panels are cheaper and work just as well as their wet counterparts. DuraSeal soundproofing products have very good reviews and are recommended by professionals.
